Mentoring – a great start begins with you.

New pilots often have many systems, procedures and pieces of information to learn. As a mentor, you are among their first contacts and turn unanswered questions into a clear path into the airline.

Your goal is not to do everything for others, but to share knowledge so new members become confident, independent and happy members of our airlines.

Your role

Guide. Contact person. Fellow pilot.

You welcome new members, help with their first steps and stay available for questions. A calm manner, patience and a desire to share knowledge matter just as much as technical experience.

Mentor-Badge bei NordFly

OperationCenter & Airlines

Explain where new pilots can find downloads and liveries, book flights and plan free flights. You also know how profiles, tours, events and the different NordFly Group airlines work.

Stratos ACARS & Setup

Help install and set up Stratos ACARS, answer API key questions and assist with connection or flight-recording issues.

Website, SOPs & Rules

Show members where to find fleet, FAQ and team information, explain our SOPs and help them understand the most important operating rules and procedures.

Discord & Community

Help newcomers find their way around Discord, discover where to ask questions or share experiences, and take part in activities such as the Screenshot Contest and community events.

Flight Reports & Awards

Explain PIREP requirements and introduce new members to tours, awards and activities such as Destination of the Month. When necessary, point them to the right person or documentation.

Simulator & Model Matching

Help new pilots set up MTLs, FSLTL or NordFly Group AIG and work through technical challenges together, step by step.

What you need as a mentor

  • At least two months as a NordFly pilot.
  • Membership in at least one other NordFly Group airline.
  • Good knowledge of our procedures and enjoyment of explaining things.
  • Patience, empathy and a helpful attitude.
