Recognising experience

Ranks at NordFly

Our rank system makes your experience and commitment visible. It is a form of recognition, not a restriction on aircraft, routes or normal flight-operations functions.

Our rank system

Recognise experience. Keep your freedom.

NordFly pilot ranks are generally based on your accumulated flight hours. Certain levels can also be upgraded by completing a course and passing a final test.

1
Based on flight hours

Your flying hours determine your regular rank and show your progress over time.

2
Optional upgrades

At selected rank levels, you can voluntarily upgrade your rank with a course and a 20-question final test.

3
No restrictions

Your rank does not determine which aircraft or route you may fly. Skill and safe operation matter most.

Management

Who leads the airlines in our group.

NordFly Group Airlines brings four virtual airlines together under one roof: NordFly, NordFly Cargo, FlyHoliday Airlines and EuroFly. Each of these airlines – and the group itself – is managed by a CEO and a Co-CEO.

CEO Management
Leads the airline and is responsible for building and developing it.
Co-CEO Deputy management
Supports the airline’s leadership and actively shapes flight operations and further development.
Badge How to recognise the role
The logo shows the airline. On the CEO badge the star and stripes are gold; on the Co-CEO badge they are set off in silver.

Like all team ranks, leadership roles are responsibilities – not a higher level of the pilot rank system.

Good to know

A higher rank does not unlock anything at NordFly.

Our ranks recognise achievement, rather than grant permissions. They document experience, activity and – for certain upgrades – additional knowledge.

Whether you fly an A319, A380, Boeing 737 or Boeing 787 does not depend on your rank. Routes, bases and normal operating functions are likewise not locked behind pilot ranks.

As long as you can operate an aircraft safely and follow our operating procedures, our fleet is generally open to you.
